Australian securitisation market conditions continue to improve, with public markets demonstrating solid volumes and tightening spreads. Market conditions in the warehousing space, however, remain mixed. Overall the case for restarting ABSF investment activity continues to strengthen. The Australian Securitisation Forum has announced that in mid-January 2021 it will reconvene the working group established to develop a standardised SME loan level data template. While not a precondition for recommencing ABSF activity, industry re-engagement with this market development activity remains key to achieving the objectives of the ABSF.
In the absence of a sharp deterioration in market conditions the AOFM is planning to call for the next round of ABSF investment proposals in late January 2021.
